Ik kwam een leuk stukje tegen wat misschien wel leuk kon zijn voor goeie discussie. Dit betreft de toegankelijkheid van kennis over virussen. Zo schreef Jim Goodwin in 1989 een stukje met betrekking dat nu nog steeds in 2007 van toepassing is. Zo schreef hij : There has been much disagreement within the virus research community about the wisdom of distributing detailed information about viruses, including disassemblies of viruses. Some would say that virus disassemblies can be easily re-assembled and returned to a live state; that they show people how to write viruses or that they give people ideas that they would not otherwise have. The opposing view holds that detailed information must be shared freely in order to effectively combat the virus spread. Proponents of shared information point out that hundreds of people are re-inventing the wheel by disassembling viruses that have already been disassembled many times over.
