Sommige oplichters leren het ook nooit. Maar deze eBay scam - die ik op 3 juni heb gekregen - gaat nog iets verder. Om de link in het oplichtersmailtje te laten werken wordt de gebruiker aangeraden om met de rechter muis knop de link te selecteren en in een nieuw scherm te openen. Juist ja, het gevolg is dat de gebruiker nietsvermoedend op een scamsite van de oplichters belandt. Door deze truc wordt getracht de beveiliging van de e-mail clients te omzeilen.

Hieronder het bericht dat ik in de P.I.R.T. e-mail valstrik heb binnen
gekregen (bovendien heb ik nog nooit gebruik gemaakt van eBay, dus viel de scam heel makkelijk door de mand). De link is onwerkzaam gemaakt. De link is gemeld aan Microsoft en het Phish Incident Respons Termination team (P.I.R.T). Firewallbezitters kunnen het internetadres blokkeren.
